A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - JANUARY 2022

For over two decades, the Lyon Family Foundation has been fulfilling my father’s philanthropic mission to support educational, health and arts initiatives in the Chicago area. As we embark on our 22nd year of partnering with organizations to make a deeper impact, I’m happy to share that commitment is as resolute and ambitious as ever.

While my dad lost his battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in 2007, his charitable vision endured and even expanded as my family began raising awareness and funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LSS). Over the last five years, we’ve not only focused our efforts on advancing his giving goals, but also defined how we want the Foundation to exist in this decade and beyond.

I am proud to report that since 2017:

+ We supported 40 organizations with $1.25 million in grants.

+ We introduced the annual Hoosier Ball to honor my father and his Indiana roots and successfully fulfilled a one-million-dollar fundraising pledge to the Beat AML Master Clinical Trial.

+ We committed an additional $1.25 million in grants to LLS for efforts outside of the trial.

+ We created Lyon’s Way to bring our dedication to improving cancer outcomes to our city of Chicago.

Please enjoy a detailed look at the Foundation’s last five years and a glimpse at what’s next in our 2022 Impact Report.

WITH GRATITUDE,

Alexandra Lyon Singer
